Bio

Guitar Man is a blues influenced rhythm guitar player who formed the band Minervah (www.tgorecords.com) in the mid 1990’s. Minervah performed over 300 club gigs and played in several festivals, including a performance on the Shaw stage at the Calgary Stampede. Minervah went on to release the “Everybody’s Naked” CD on the SPG/Universal label in 2000, spanning 2 Canadian radio singles. Minervah’s tune “Love Is Blind“, written by Guitar Man, was included in a 2008 feature movie “South Of The Moon” and later released as part of the movie soundtrack. The soundtrack won the Golden Reel Award for Best Score at the Tiburon International Film Festival. The South Of The Moon DVD is available at southofthemoonmovie.com.

Guitar Man formed a new band Mudflies who released their debut album Anything Goes on Montreal’s Evolution Records label in 2010. Writing all 12 songs, playing electric & acoustic guitars, programming keyboards & loops and arranging all the album tracks showcases Guitar Man’s musical abilities. Mudflies recorded 2 singles intended for radio release accompanied by video clips. The album is available on iTunes and the songs and videos are featured at www.mudflies.com.

Prior to Minervah and Mudflies, Guitar Man wrote and recorded a tune called “It’s Over Now” which was reviewed in the Recording Magazine and released on a “Playback” CD. It’s Over Now was again released on a Brite Lites CD and the tune received regular rotation for several month on Calgary’s KISS 95.9 radio station. Guitar Man also formed the band Playmates, writing & recording an unreleased 12 song CD “Anticipation”. Track “Next Best Thing” from Anticipation was used as background music in a special about the U. of C. wrestling team. Guitar Man learned to play live the hard way in the late 1980’s playing the rough, Canadian “B” circuit with a band called Straight On amongst nightly bar fights and flying beer bottles. Guitar Man has recorded and produced numerous artists over the years and he is currently writing and recording with the upcoming blues & jazz influenced The James Kelly Project.
